Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By subscribing to and using Schema Shield LLC ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Schema Shield is a Shopify app that automatically generates and manages JSON-LD structured data for your products. The Service includes:

• Automated schema generation for products
• Shipping and return policy schema management
• Real-time metafield synchronization
• A theme app extension that outputs the JSON-LD on your storefront

3. Subscription & billing

Schema Shield is a paid subscription, offered on the following plans and billed through Shopify's billing system. All plans begin with a 14-day free trial.

Standard

$14.99 USD per month, or $149 USD per year. Covers up to 1,000 products.

Plus

$39.99 USD per month, or $399 USD per year. Unlimited products.

By subscribing, you agree to:

• Pay the subscription fee for your selected plan through Shopify's billing system
• Automatic renewal each billing period until cancelled
• No refunds for partial billing periods
• Cancellation at any time from your Shopify admin

If your catalog grows beyond your plan's product limit, we notify you in the app and continue publishing structured data for your entire catalog for a further 14 days. After that period, Schema Shield publishes structured data for the oldest products up to your plan's limit and skips the remainder until you move to a higher plan. Skipped products are not otherwise affected.

You may change plans at any time. Changing plans creates a new subscription that you approve in your Shopify admin, and cancels the previous one. Moving to a plan with a lower limit removes Schema Shield's data from products the new plan does not cover.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Switching on the Schema Shield app embed in your theme
• Providing accurate shipping and return policy information
• Maintaining an active Shopify store subscription
• Ensuring your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws

5. Data & privacy

Schema Shield:

• Stores only your configuration settings, such as shipping times and return policies
• Does not collect or store customer data
• Does not sell or share your data with third parties
• Deletes your data after uninstallation, in line with GDPR requirements
• Uses Shopify's native metafield system to store schema data

6. Service availability

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to:

• Perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice
• Make emergency updates or fixes as needed
• Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice

7. Limitations of liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Loss of revenue or business opportunities
• Data loss or corruption
• Third-party actions, including those of AI and search engines
• Compatibility issues with your theme or other apps
• SEO or ranking outcomes

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the preceding 12 months.

8. Intellectual property

Schema Shield LLC and its original content, features and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.

9. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Use the Service for illegal purposes
• Attempt to reverse engineer or abuse the Service
• Fail to pay subscription fees

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the United States.
